Re: Improved Structure

The disturbance's cloud structure has been slowly improving this evening. The center is heading due west @ 24mph just north of 15N-50W. However, some slowing should begin in the next 48-72hrs too 15-17mph.The magic 50W line,  doubles OHC from 25 too 50 plus and continues to increase further west. In addition to shear and rapid motion, the system is very large and the wide circulation has tapped into the dry saharan layer north of 94L causing the very slow process.

Current trend tonight is increased convective banding to the west and some scattered north, this is a sign of vertical ascent and better mixing ratio near the vortex, but this is especially the case south/ southeast where strong inflow banding is trying to pull inward on the backside. There's a large supply of deep layer moisture and increased thermodynamics that should gradually help increase convection later tonight and thereafter. Its possible that the diurnal pulse will aid in triggering more convection tonight and our next TD will form.
