Re: TD 9 has formed and is headed due west toward the Caribbean Islands

I moved to Lehigh this summer.  If things happen just right we could be in the bulls eye for this.  There are still a majority of models which take it up the east coast.  At this point the official model 7 days out (LOTS OF ROOM FOR ERROR) is showing it cutting northwest through the keys and coming ashore in the Everglades and the last point is showing just south of LaBelle.  That would be a particularly bad hit because Miami and Fort Lauderdale, etc would be on the east side of the storm.  However, a lot of the models show this going through the Bahamas and coming ashore in the Carolinas or even north of that.

Still way early (I mean it isn't even Isaac yet) but the early stages of preparedness should begin now especially in Florida at this point in my opinion.  Take it for what it's worth.  I've been through several of these (Opal, Charley and Ike to name a few) and the weather pattern and where this storm has formed gives it the look of one to watch until and unless it safely recurves to sea.

On the link there is a place where you can change it to go 7 days (even longer) out.  OFCI is the official model (I believe)
