Hurricane Andrew

So, while Isaac plays down in the Caribbean further south than planned and obviously not looking at his models.. I put up a long, blog post on Hurricane Andrew.

I'll be on the road tomorrow and wanted to do it today...

Something to think on... Miami Beach had a lot of damage... mostly trees, awnings, signs, windows needing to be repaired...some roof damage.  And, do not tell me that's impossible as my friend's fancy new roof took sail and landed a block away in another friend's back yard in her pool. I have a picture somewhere... hard to tell what it was as it's floating in the pool. Was a big house, big fancy roof, new... one of those mini mansions on Flamingo Drive....  needed a new roof.

Pine Trees fell from Pine Tree Drive. AC units blew off of condos and landed on Byron...

A lot of trees down... debris everywhere.

We got "lucky" in perspective.

Anyway....enjoy. May write more later but again am on the road today... watching Isaac still trying to get his act together.

Remember... Miami was not in the 5 day for Andrew...or the 4 day... and Andrew was in worse shape than Isaac is now..

So never count out a storm until it's dead and gone...

It cannot be underestimated how much dust Isaac inhaled... sort of suffering maybe from Dust Pneumonia currently... fighting to clear out his lungs. Data from recon has showed how dry it is inside  parts of Isaac...

Seemingly a fighter.. like Andrew.

Am happy to hear any thoughts on Andrew but preferably from people who saw first hand damage on Miami Beach.

And, I will say the older homes did much better than the few newer homes... they knew how to build them back in the 20s... and 30s...
