I wish they had a lot more surge products that they always had available. That would be nice, no matter how experimental and however many disclaimers you would need. They do not put out surge amounts for an area until a warning is issued which I think they said is because there would be too much uncertainty to do it sooner. But, it would be nice to be able to run your own simulation for an area or have access to something. I know there are some existing things that do that in Google Maps, but I have not found them to be very reliable when I tried in the past.

Wunderground has something that is probably the best there is out there. Static images:
