Major Winter Storm Continues to Affect the Eastern United States

A powerful and damaging storm system continues to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and heavy rains to the eastern half of the nation. This system is forecast to bring heavy snows to the Great Lakes region as well as the Appalachian Mts. tonight and tomorrow. Out west, another storm is forecast to bring several feet of snow to the mountains of northern California through this weekend.


Farmers Almanac Forecast:

Midwest/Great Lakes U.S.
20th-23rd. Snow across Midwest, then fair, very cold.
24th-27th. Snow showers, few snow squalls around Great Lakes.

Southeast U.S.
20th-23rd. Showery from Mississippi east, then clearing, very cold. Frosts down to Florida.
24th-27th. Increasing clouds.

Northeast U.S.
20th-23rd. Snow from Pennsylvania and New York to Maine. Showery across Mid-Atlantic States, then clearing, very cold.
24th-27th. Some snow Christmas.

South Central U.S.
20th-23rd. Showery Louisiana, then clearing, sharply colder. Fair, very cold through Southern Great Plains.
24th-27th. Snow northern New Mexico. Rain Southern New Mexico, Texas, Mississippi Valley.
