Every time I think about the GFS computing upgrade I just have to shake my head. I still can't believe we let ourselves get that behind.

I wish the ECMWF would share the Euro a little more with the public. I'm sure the media would still pay to show the graphical version on TV, it doesn't seem like simply releasing the center track into the NHC's public model files in real time would cost them that much. The center track data for the Euro does sometimes appear later on in the NHC's model files well after the storm dissipates, but never in real time. The ECMWF does have some of the Euro on their own site in real time. I'm surprised they even have that since they seem to hold on to that model so tightly. At least the NHC gets it in real time. Maybe if the GFS gets better we will have some better leverage with the European Union.
