I was reading some various things about the tornado.

I was reading about some of the other people who died left their car and were washed away in a ditch. Jeff Masters blog:

He has some links to discussions about whether to stay in a car. But after what happened to the storm chasers that got killed, I still would never be in a car. The car they were in is hardly recognizable.

Storm chasers spelling out the initials of each of those chasers lost:

Apparently one reason the roads were so busy later on, south of OKC, is because meteorologist Mike Morgan on KFOR told people they should drive away from the tornado if they couldn't get underground:
At about 8:40 in this video and at 9:50:

The roads were absolutely packed, bumper to bumper.

I was also reading other stuff (posted before it was known about the chasers being killed):

I hope chasers learn to be extra careful in the future, taking into account the unpredictability of weather. This tornado caught a lot of experienced people off guard, so in the end it was not just due to complete recklessness, though obviously what they were doing did turn out to be reckless, they just didn't realize it. Hopefully others can learn from this tragedy.

In the future, perhaps this will be an option in storm chasing, using drones:

It would be safer and more efficient I would think, though more costly.

I didn't see it posted before, but apparently there will be no furloughs at NOAA:
