Why is this funny?

This has been one of the wetter summers in my memory (though, granted,  I've only lived here on Pensacola Beach since 2000, so that's not saying a whole lot).  I don't like to complain as long as there are no hurricanes (so far), but will confess I do miss those long, sunny afternoons on the beach without continual threats of rainouts.  Pop-up summer storms are one thing, but this is getting ridiculous.

That said, it's not really so awfully bad for us residents, considering we can hustle ourselves out onto the beach when the sun does shine and grab an hour or two, but I genuinely feel sorry for those who've invested their vacation time and dollars on the northern Gulf Coast, and have so very few opportunities for memory-making days.

Not only is the weather crummy, but the water, having  been regularly stirred up by storms and winds, looks nothing  like its clear emerald self, but rather more like opaque brown tea with seaweed mixed in.   Ugh.  On my beach walks, the few days I can find many people out, I find I want to walk up to every vacationing group and say, "This isn't really the way it usually is.  Try us again next summer!"

And that takes us right back to AlligatorPointer's post.  Wish I could laugh, too.
