All Done :).........The storm center passes about 30-35 miles to the east of Maui. Nothing, very little wind and very little rain. Then last night 5:45 HST the storms that were to the south of the center came hard. It was amazing to see how fast the low level clouds were moving. I would say we had a severe thunderstorm that brought rain and at my house sustained winds of 25-30 mph. Lost power around 6:00PM HST. From what I know 10,000 homes lost power and as of 5:00AM 4,400 still without power. Two structures were hit by lightning. Most power loss was due to lightning I think. Kahului airport had a wind gust of 48 MPH. I have not looked very hard at the news but I think someplace on Maui received 5 inches of rain and that is the most out of all the islands. So now all is good in paradise. Aloha |
