Not much change from last forecast. Still 18 storms. 1 less hurricane (now 8) and 1 less major hurricane (now 3). Total Accumulated Cyclone Energy (one of the nicer measures for total activity, or at least one of the easier to calculate) for the year forecast to be 142 where average is 92 they say. (previous forecast was for 165)
Their predictions have been a bit off in the past two years I see, especially last year. (on the last page)
As for my county in Florida (product here), I see a 2.2% chance of intense hurricane-force (>= 115 mph) wind gusts, up from the climatological 1.6%. Can't really get much out of those numbers. |
