In case you blinked, yesterday Dorian was a TD briefly again. The NHC upgraded him back to a TD about the time he totally fell apart. Of course at the moment, despite 0% chance, remnant low Dorian looks better than he has a lot of his life, lol. Of course it's curtains at this point. It has hours.
As for 08E, looks like it will likely get an upgrade at 11am EDT. Best track file for 2am and 8am EDT has it listed as a tropical storm, although they have yet to assign it a name in that file, so they could still wait a little longer. (although while the convection lessened some, now it is building again and looks a bit more organized at the center) Being a week or more from Hawaii if it headed that way, it could still swing well north or well south. (weaker storm, further westward and stronger storm, the more northward, which the NHC has been discussing) |
