A little info about Erin I put on my Facebook page...

"Erin, the on, off and then on again tropical storm, marks the third storm in a row this year, after Chantal and Dorian, to have a rather unique point of origin.

In looking at best track data since 1851, only eight storms have formed further east than Erin this early in the year. (at or before the same time Erin formed) Erin formed at 14.3N 25.9W at 12Z on August 15th according to best track data (which is subject to revision) and required the issuance of tropical storm warnings for some of the southern Cape Verde islands.

Even among all tropical storm origin points for the entire year (data from 1851 through Erin, which is noted by a TS symbol), Erin formed quite far east. You can see that image and several others in this album, including the tracks and names of the eight storms that formed further east from Erin's origin position."
