The long range GFS had been consistently showing activity in the first week of September, but it kept pushing it back. Plus, it kept developing different things, with different intensities and very varied paths. Then it stopped. Now it's been a little intermittent at times since.

As for the 18Z run you were probably looking at, the next run had very little except one low that curved off into the north Atlantic and it was hardly anything, if anything.

Unless something just pops up that has time to develop, I'm thinking LawKat's is going to be revising some numbers for a bit longer.

And some of it may clear the way for others behind. Carib looks pretty clear at the moment and the Gulf disturbance probably would not have the time to develop significantly.
