September 10th - 10th latest

Well, this is the day.  The modern record is less than 24 hours away.  I don't know if they'll call it tomorrow, and make Humberto or Gabrielle a hurricane, but neither one looks like it is ready.  It is at least a tie for the record, and who really thought that would happen when I first started tracking this stat.  Make it past tomorrow hurricane-less and the next one on deck will be in the GOMEX.

Each day the Atlantic becomes more amenable to allowing development, so I think a hurricane comes before the season ends, but we all want to see tomorrow go empty.  Here's to the next 24 hours being without hurricane.
