From a climatological standpoint, those stats show that Florida is overdue for an October landfalling hurricane.

There has been an October landfalling hurricane somewhere in Florida on average once every 4.6 years (35 times in 162 years).

The last one was 8 years ago (Wilma).

Florida also has not had a landfalling hurricane between October 5th and 11th since 1948 but had one on average every 8 years (12 times in 97 years) during those days between 1851 and 1947.
