| I was living in Avon, Connecticut (western suburb of Hartford) when Gloria came through, and my memories are almost exactly the same as Fred's. Lots of trees down, power outages, but, after the hype-filled leadup, I was also "not that scared, and was surprised at how fast it came and went." So true, Fred. VERY fast - a buncha wind, and then bam, it was over. Heck, if all our hurricanes here on the Gulf Coast were so benign, it'd be a piece of cake to live here and weather them all. |
