Today's 10 a.m. CDT NHC Discussion contains the following rather cryptic (seems to me) note:

IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT THE ECMWF...WHICH HAS PERFORMED
QUITE WELL WITH KAREN...TAKES A WEAKER SYSTEM ALMOST DUE EASTWARD
AFTER 24 HOURS...AND THIS MOTION CANNOT BE RULED OUT IF THE CYCLONE
DECOUPLES AND IS STEERED BY THE LOW-LEVEL FLOW.

If I am seeing things right, at 24 hours the center of circulation could still be in the vicinity of the Louisiana Delta, and an "almost due eastward" track from there could take it over open water for quite a distance, possibly all the way to the west coast of Florida.  Are they trying to give us a hint of a possible restrengthening opportunity here, or am I imagining things?  Pardon my ignorance if so.  Or even if not.  Ha.

It just gave me pause, the way they worded this, especially as I didn't see any discussion re exactly how the Euro influenced the latest. NHC track prediction, presuming it must've.
