Thanks for your thoughts on the typhoons passing through all that debris littering the Pacific, Chris.  I have also wondered what would happen to the residual oil and dispersants if one or more major hurricanes were to make landfall near the site of the BP Deep Horizon oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.  The amount of contamination in both places is something that humans are probably not capable of correcting and perhaps the best hope for the health of the oceans would be for an act of nature to provide a cleansing.
