I found this.

"Believe it or not, Super Typhoon Tip grew this large in the northwest Pacific Ocean to the south of Japan and to the east of the Philippines on Oct. 12, 1979."  http://www.weather.com/news/weather-hurricanes/largest-smallest-tropical-cyclones-typhoon-tip-20130905

"On that date, Super Typhoon Tip's central pressure dropped to an astonishing 870 mb (25.69 inches Hg), the lowest sea level pressure ever recorded on Earth!  http://fox41blogs.typepad.com/wdrb_weather/2013/10/typhoon-tip-the-strongest-storm-on-record.html

It appears Hurricane Sandy might be bigger but I am wondering it Tropical Cyclone Phailin will be bigger.

There was a great live feed, they are saying the winds are a gessstimate from satellite pictures.  There is a chance the winds are greater.

Many people are wishing there was more information.
