There is a lot of information there. (And you can view it over many years which is really nice, plus add units so you can hover your mouse over a layer and get units.) There is a lot of stuff I don't know anything about, so clicking "Describe" on the right side once you have added a layer tells you about it.

I was taking a look at all sorts of things, from water temps, drought, etc. I got to looking at the chlorophyll layer and in the describe section:

"Approximately 50% of the oxygen we breathe comes from the ocean, where algae not only release oxygen during photosynthesis, but also serve as the base of most oceanic food webs."

I didn't realize so much oxygen comes from the ocean! Lots of other informative stuff on other tabs.
