Typhoon Haiyan: Aerial views of the devastation

We have all seen the pictures of Tacloban City and the horrific storm surge and damage to structures. What is stunning and seems to verify the 190 mph winds is the damage to trees.  In the tropics, palm trees are designed by nature to withstand cyclones by flexing and allowing the fronds to blow in the winds.  Look at how many trees were uprooted, snapped, and even the tropical rainforest hardwoods that were smashed. Truly stunning
