Haiyan was worse than Camille in the most important measure, lives lost.  Both were bad storms, there is no absolute scale of worseness, some statistics I could find are below.

Camille
259 dead
190 mph 1-min sustained
905 mbar lowest pressure
22.6 ft storm surge
$9 billion damage (2013 $)

Haiyan/Yolanda
5,600 and still counting dead
195 mph 1-min sustained
895 mbar lowest pressure
maybe 20 ft storm surge, other reports were lower, I couldn't find anything official.
$1.5 billion and still counting damage (2013 $)
