Description
On October 29, 2012, Hurricane Sandy ravaged Long Island leaving thousands without power, food, or gas. Many others experienced severe flooding which either destroyed their possessions and parts of their home, or claimed their home all together. This is the story about these people. The people who weren't fortunate enough to just get the power back in a week and continue with everyday life. The people who have spent months away from home. The people who look to their own pockets to pay for damages not covered by insurance companies or the government. These are the people whose stories need to be shared. We set out on a mission to inform the residents of Long Island and even the world on how Hurricane Sandy may have happened over a year ago, but its toll on south shore residents is far from over.
