OK Jim, thanks very much for your comment.   I note in an update to last night's article that Crown seems to be backing off some, possibly in response to at least one article comment about hype.  For instance, last night they were talking 6-10" of rain, now 3-6", quite a change in just that short period of time, especially when nothing has even formed yet:

UPDATE, 1:55 p.m.:Crown Weather Service meteorologists said this afternoon that there remained a chance for some sort of tropical depression or tropical storm to form in either the Bay of Campeche or the southernmost Gulf of Mexico between Wednesday and Saturday of next week.

Rob Lightbown, owner of Crown Weather Service, said the system -- if it were to materialize -- could bring 3 to 6 inches of rain and possible flooding to the Pensacola area by next weekend.

"I think even if we don't see a tropical depression or tropical storm form (which is possible), there will still be a heavy rain and flood threat -- as a lot of moisture will be streaming northward from the Caribbean into the Gulf of Mexico," Lightbown said.

Well, we shall see.  Thanks again, JW - you're always a voice of reason in the wilderness.  __BL
