Question: What Is A Collapsing Thunderstorm?

Yesterday as remnants of Wali passed Maui there was a thunderstorm that collapsed about 20 miles east of Maui.  I have never heard the term before.  Looking at the weather for that time the temp. went down about 5 degrees and the wind really picked up from a gusty 10mph to a gusty 50mph.  Then reports after the collapse rain and wind from NOAA were drizzle and fog.  Not very often do we get fog.

I can only guess that the collapsing of the storm brought the straight line winds, rain and also the cool dry air to bring the fog.  My question what causes a "collapsing thunderstorm"?  If you have never seen one I found a cool vid on youtube.
