Barring something strange happening, I think a turn down the road is coming. The flow this summer has been strange and not one to support a storm coming from the Atlantic from making landfall. Arthur was a different kind of storm developing off the Florida coast and not coming from the Atlantic.
Never have I ever remembered a summer in all my years in Florida where the flow has been West to East every single day. It's one of the reasons why it's been so dry here by Clearwater Beach this summer. We just haven't gotten the traditional afternoon thunderstorms that come from the east coast and work its way west. Every day it's been the opposite flow with a rare every day West wind, along with fronts coming much further south than ever I remember this time of year.
Only thing I worry about on the Florida West Coast is with this flow, a storm forming in the Carribean would put us in harm's way. |
