Radar Estimates

Tampa International Airport, which didn't get nearly as much as most areas, is just SE of the 5.9 inches on this map, in the yellow. I got about 4.79 inches, just a tiny bit south of the 5.9 inches. Just to the NE got over a foot. And these are 24 hour estimates, not the storm total.

For those familiar with the area, 12.9 inches was just to the NNE of the intersection of Hillsborough and Dale Mabry. That's only 4 miles to the NE of me. Over 8 inches difference! That 12.9 inch location was about 3 miles from the airport, and they only got 3.89 inches, 9 inches difference!

As you can see, the radar estimates from the Weather Underground's radar don't resolve the higher totals as good. The Facebook post above uses a better radar, located west of downtown Tampa, that picked up how different areas, very close together, got wildly different estimates.
