Interesting and discomforting correlation there between a wet summer and a late-season hurricane. Tampa has not seen the likes of a storm of that magnitude since then. Both Donna and the Labor Day 'cane had weakened considerably by the time they reached this area in 1960 and 1935, respectively. The 1921 'cane, by contract, was a bonafide Cat 3, borderline 4 when it came in.
