And now... radar loops in Google Earth

For those that dare, it may crash Google Earth. But it is really cool. It's like the couple videos I did of the radar in YouTube, only in real time.

It's nice to be able to create some cool things people can use.

I caught up on some sleep yesterday, but still more to catch up on.

The Global Hawk UAS is on the way to Erika from Virginia! Early. I thought they didn't start until August 30th. I want to see if sonde data comes through to my system. It's almost to Erika.

NOAA43: Flew a Saharan Air Layer Experiment (SALEX) research mission into Tropical Storm Erika.  Take off was at 0600 UTC (2:00AM local) from Barbados. Three HRD scientists were on this flight.

UAS Global Hawk: Took off this morning at 7:00AM Eastern from Wallops Island, VA. It will fly a 24 hour research mission over Tropical Storm Erika. This mission is part of NOAA's Sensing Hazards with Operational Unmanned Technology (SHOUT) field campaign.

NOAA43: Is scheduled to fly an operationally tasked Tail Doppler Radar (TDR) mission. This means that NOAA's Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) is interested in collecting data and has requested this flight into Erika. Take off is scheduled for 1700 UTC (1:00PM local) to and from from Barbados for a six and half hour mission. Three HRD scientists will be on this flight.
