He gets too close. It's tearing up the construction site and he is still moving toward it. At about 4:42 in the video debris might be falling around ten to fifteen feet in front of his car and in the seconds after some is going right in front of his windshield.
Then at 5:27 he gets to the point where he is right next to it and he rolls down the window. Then he says he's too close and backs up.
Although to be fair, if I had my camera and found myself in that position, I'm following it too if it is moving away from me. I'd be further away, like at least many hundreds of feet further than he is (maybe a lot more than that), but still, I wouldn't be able to resist. Well, a tornado of that strength, EF-0, not something stronger. You can see how even an EF-0 could kill someone if someone had been near that truck for example.
At least he is honking to try to warn other people. When it crosses the main road, Interstate 275, it is hard to see and some people drive right through it. |
