I sure hope we are not stupid....

The "official" hurricane season is quickly coming to a close for the Atlantic.

I found this from 2007

I was recently in South Florida this past week. Had work in Key Largo. And on the way down was amazed at the growth around Homestead. I was equally amazed at the number of condos that have hurricane doors and shutters.... left open, with the owners gone up north.

Does anyone know what the population growth in Florida has been since the last hurricane? I really feel we are on a ticking time bomb.

California seems to experience the same ignorance  with earthquakes.

I had, long ago a face to face meeting with mother nature, and by a miracle survived. I tried to got cross a swollen "stream" in the California desert. Since then, I have never thought about ignoring her. Every time man has thought that he is beyond reach... disasters happen. Titanic comes to mind.

Not wanting to sound like chicken little.... but don't we need to be prepared?
