I Wonder...

It seems to me, and I've seen this before, that when a disorganized storm or wave is passing N of Hispaniola, regardless of atmospheric conditions, a large amount of its energy is blocked S of the island. It looks like the energy that focused on the now-dissipated western swirl is persisting, but unable to move north. Now I understand there is shear present, but that is forecast to wane. I just wonder what might happen in 4-6 hours when the dominant swirl is another ~80-100 miles west and the southerly flow is no longer impeded by the mountains. If that energy can transfer during a period of decreasing shear, we might get something and quick.

The operative word here being "might".
