The organization of the LLC. I don't know whether it could be said it had one that was poorly defined or that it didn't have one. Recon passed through what could have been the LLC on previous occasions but didn't see a well organized wind shift. There were west winds at times, but it was not very organized.

In the recon images here:

You can see an organization that it simply didn't have before. It's weak winds around it, at around 1,000 feet where they are flying, but organized enough. The "organized deep convection" part seems to be the most subjective thing in the definition. If it has a well defined enough LLC and there are thunderstorms nearby, they seem to upgrade it, even if they may not seem to be "organized" and/or "deep".

"Tropical Cyclone:
A warm-core non-frontal synoptic-scale cyclone, originating over tropical or subtropical waters, with organized deep convection and a closed surface wind circulation about a well-defined center. Once formed, a tropical cyclone is maintained by the extraction of heat energy from the ocean at high temperature and heat export at the low temperatures of the upper troposphere. In this they differ from extratropical cyclones, which derive their energy from horizontal temperature contrasts in the atmosphere (baroclinic effects)."
