Re: Global Hawk

I didn't realize they had the planned route on there for it:
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/NASA872
It gives an approximate idea of where they might go. They have deviated, going in a different order it seems, but interesting to see what the game plan might be.

If only the Global Hawks were not so expensive:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_RQ-4_Global_Hawk
Even for just weather, it might cost over a hundred million. They better take good care of the two NASA has that NOAA uses sometimes.

By the time the Global Hawk gets back to around T.D. Nine, if it does, we might just have a tropical storm if a sonde gets some representative surface winds.

From the now completed NOAA mission:

It's looking a bit more organized. Maybe there will be a well timed satellite overpass (doesn't usually when I look) to give it the upgrade if the Global Hawk doesn't get back around there by 11am EDT.

And for those that follow sports, the Tampa Bay Bucs / Washington Redskins preseason game that was to occur Thursday will be moved to the day before due to the possible impacts from T.D. Nine:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000692387/article/redskinsbucs-preseason-game-moved-to-wednesday

I was going to point out how that article had a mistake in it, but they corrected it. (it did say Tropical Storm Nine)

I was watching TWC channel last night and they were talking about how the Daily Mail in the U.K. had several really, really incorrect things in their article about the current activity in the tropics. I see they seem to have fixed it now. (Gaston was threatening the U.S., they had old satellite imagery too that had things in the wrong places and something else too I believe)
