I still watch closely and try to make my own call on a given situation. I can see that 92L looks a lot better than the NHC gives it credit for. I can also see a wall of shear ahead of it that is most likely going to zap whatever hope of life out of it it has. At the end of the day computer models for several reasons have taken away my excitement of tracking the tropics. Though they are not 100% accurate and often shift back-and-forth they still way too early tell me where a something is going or not going. Sometimes they give me false excitement though by showing a storm coming right at me only to change by the next morning. They also tend to show that nothing is going to happen which kills my anticipation of waiting for something. In this age of technology I often miss the simple good old days of just tracking along with my hurricane tracking map. I miss going to Publix or Winn-Dixie and stocking up on them and just observing, plotting and waiting. However, it is what it is and this technology is here to help though sometimes I think more it's here to hype.
