The Potential Importance of the 13N Latitudinal Line

As I have watched Matthew over the past 24-36 hours I increasingly have had the feeling that if the center jogs south of a 13N line, it then would have to make an almost absurdly sharp northward turn to split the uprights between Jamaica and Haiti. In other words, I think the closer this storm's center gets to heading south of 13N, the more I'm afraid it puts Jamaica in the eventual bull's eye. I continue to be quite worried for that island, especially since on this vis. loop the CDO seems to be recovering while the eye appears to be clearing out again, which leads me to suspect that shear may have had less to do with the eye's brief closure and associated weakening than the kind of EWRC we very typically see with systems of this intensity.

Anyway, thoughts on the importance of 13N as it pertains to Jamaica?
