NE Quadrant:
Lowest Extrapolated Sfc. Pressure: 933.2 mb (27.56 inHg) Flight Level Wind (30 sec. Avg.): 129 knots (148.5 mph) ... three in a row Peak (10 sec. Avg.) Flight Level Wind: 131 knots (150.8 mph) ... three in a row SFMR Peak (10s Avg.) Sfc. Wind: 127 knots (146.1 mph)
The flight level winds in the NE quadrant were lower than the SE quadrant, but the SFMR estimated surface winds were higher in the NE quadrant than the SE quadrant. I could understand the winds being a little higher in the SE quadrant due to the storm's motion, though I don't know why the surface winds were not as high in the SE. |
