That is absolutely wild. Now, I want to caution folks about drawing parallels with Jeanne. This would be an entirely different situation, it seems to me. Jeanne did not make TWO landfalls on FL and on the Bahamas, only ONE. This forecast and Jeff's interpretation of it suggests Matt potentially could make TWO landfalls as a hurricane on FL and on the Bahamas. Once Jeanne did her circus loop north of the DR and headed to FL, we only had to worry about her once and then she was gone. I know, I lived in martin County, FL at the time; her eye came directly over my neighborhood. The thought of having had to go through that direct impact twice from the same storm over the span of one week is pretty difficult to fathom. |
