Many years ago, October 1989, I was flying back to California from Florida as Hurricane Jerry was hitting Galveston County Texas. We flew north of Texas just into Oklahoma to avoid an 85 MPH hurricane and it was horrible. I swore to never fly along any route that would take me near a hurricane. Kept it till Floyd in 1999.
So I cannot imagine how rough this flight was as the nearest to it is over 70 miles further away from storm.
