Re: Where the forecast failed

Living near Myrtle Beach, SC our neighborhood never lost power. Many...many are still without power and will be well into this week or early next week before power being restored.

Received almost a foot of rain....however the wind here did as much as or more damage than the rainfall.

Couple that with the storm surge at the beaches.....two fishing piers totaled....plus a couple more damaged severely......all from a Cat 1 hurricane.

I had a doctor appointment with my cardiologist this morning and his home is located on the beach at Surfside.  He still has no power......deck gone....stated the dunes are gone also.

The local weather people (I believe) failed somewhat in the lead up to Matthew.  I would have to agree with the post by AquaRN...."they got this one wrong,"
