To me this has "some" of the characteristics of what happened with Wilma. That hurricane got stronger over land and was hauling when it came through east coast of Florida.

I do not know about up in that part of the country, but I know one of the meteorologist down here talked about it the chance Matthew was going to expand outward as it got weaker. That whom ever was at that point was going to get a nasty storm versus the concentrated areas while it was a CAT-4.
