Dial-up era. I don't even know what sites were around then that could host video permanently, and likely none were free if they did exist. Long before YouTube. It's nice to have a way to document that all now.
The interview with me seems like forever ago because that was likely the last time I got a webcam working with my computer. The webcams I had were from the 90's and they don't work on my computers now. The family I have around the country prefer to talk on the phone rather than by webcam I guess, so I have not bothered to get another. (though I do have a tablet that can do Skype)
I was just getting some of the model charting done when that interview took place. The next version I did of that model charting was finished for this year and I'm actually already looking into the next version, which will likely be an option between what there is now in Flash or instead using a third party charting application, such as Google Charts. That way it would work on mobile using JavaScript. With newer browsers you can actually save elements of a page as an image, without creating an image server side, so in the end I should be able to have charts that could be saved with just the information someone wants on the image. Maybe sometime next year I will get to that. I still have a lot of recon stuff to do first. |
