"The Trump transition team appeared to back away from a controversial questionnaire sent to the Energy Department last week that asked for the names of department staffers who had worked on several climate-change initiatives under President Obama.

'The questionnaire was not authorized or part of our standard protocol,' Trump's transition team said in a statement to The Washington Post. 'The person who sent it has been properly counseled.'"

Or rather, it didn't go over as well as they would have liked. Although "The person who sent it has been properly counseled" is probably one of the funniest ways to put that. Fired would be nice. Out of the Republican electors, one said he will not vote for Trump, voting for another Republican instead. Two will supposedly resign the day of the vote, since you can't resign early apparently. But those two will be replaced with people who will vote for Trump. More electors are not going to vote for Clinton to protest the Electoral College, in an attempt to get some of the untested laws challenged in some places that basically require you to vote how your state voted. (except for some of Maine and Nebraska) So unfortunately, there's no getting out of this now. Unless Trump changes his mind and then I assume Pence would likely be elected instead. We're in this for the long haul. Unfortunately I truly believe Trump did start this for publicity, but it became too late. I think a little bit of what he did might have been to try to get out of it.
