The .dat files download rather than open in the browser now. To view them nicely I have to save them, open them in WordPad, copy all the text there, open the file in Notepad and then save the text I copied from WordPad into Notepad. By default I have .dat files open in Notepad on my computer to see them better. (I don't like WordPad.)

The raw text file should appear fine in the model system at HurricaneCity:
http://hurricanecity.com/models/archive/al/2017/02/atcf/nhc/Best_Track.txt

When you navigate to the best track page:
http://hurricanecity.com/models/models.cgi?basin=al&year=2017&storm=02&display=best_track
In the top menu look for:

Best Track data in: Original Raw File

To get to the best track page...

Go to a storm's page in the model system and click "View all past best track data in table form" under the map in the best track section:
http://hurricanecity.com/models/models.cgi?basin=al&year=2017&storm=02

Or on most any other page that has model data for the particular storm, the menu near the top of the page should have:
View this storm's: Best Track Data

The model system updates every half hour at :05 and :35 past the hour at HurricaneCity.
