Re: on a side note regarding model post's

I'm less worried on tourists than locals who think a hurricane never hits because they have lived there for five years and they all went somewhere else. No one ever died that we know of from a long range model but many have died because they were new to Miami or some other city with a large diverse, transient demographic base that thinks hurricanes always go somewhere else.

A little heightened attention wouldn't hurt if you ask me.

Rumors are often spread, like when they said forecasters were trying to get ratings in Miami and that Andrew would really catch some cold front in August and it was all just hype.

NW coast of FL knows more about landfalling systems than many areas who think they are safe because when they bought the house down in the Keys the realtor told them the coral reef protects them.....   His great granddaddy probably was a wrecker once upon a time. Sucker born every minute.

And don't even get me started on Tampa...
