Grain of salt probably isn't even the appropriate saying. I used to like having the GFS at the long range, just to see how models get better over the years. But the GFS long range is terrible, at least for tropical cyclones. Maybe it has other benefits. The obvious statement, of course it could happen, like anything is possible, but it's almost always terrible in the long range. I've seen swings from Canada to around Mexico with other storms.

A few runs ago the GFS had it west of Bermuda for a few runs, so obviously the GFS over two weeks out is in my opinion not much more reliable than someone throwing darts.
