Re: Question

I guess maybe the timing from the models?

Here are the last four forecasts made at regular advisory times, with the time of the forecast (EDT). Keep in mind the center of the storm when it turns will not travel in a straight line between points, even if the forecast points were exactly correct. It would likely be some kind of curve.

Track updates only occur every 6 hours (5am, 11am, 5pm, 11pm EDT), except for special advisories. (like the 8am one this morning making it a cat 5, but they just used the 5am track) Intermediate advisories (2am, 8am, 2pm, 8pm EDT) do not make any changes to the track, they only include the Public Advisory and update the forecast track image with only the current position of the storm released in the Public Advisory. The time reflects the current position.

Complete advisories post a Forecast Advisory, along with everything else, including the Public Advisory. Forecast Advisory contains the points that create the track. The track does not exist in the Public Advisory.
