Irma is finally moving away from the Northeast Caribbean Sea but not before leaving a path of destruction in its wake.

The next phase of tracking this beast of a hurricane will now begin - we will focus on the Bahamas, Hispaniola, Cuba and eventually Florida - and likely the south east coast of the United States.

I have prepared another in-depth video discussion which is interesting this afternoon because of the delays in getting information from the hurricane center site due to the overwhelming amount of traffic. This just goes to show the historic nature of this event.

Tomorrow, I leave for Florida to set up specialized equipment that will certainly have the biggest test yet.

I will be posting information on social media, streaming live as I travel and continuing to post info to our iPhone app: Hurricane Impact.
