The models and the NHC have been flipping this thing back and forth since Tuesday. If you recall when the models first moved the back to the east coast the NHC did not follow Euro completely and showed it coming in center of state. The run around the edge of a high is one of the hardest things to predict and after Charlie the people on the west coast of Florida should know that.

If they are going to make a mistake or a late change then it better to start saying an east coast storm. The evac times are much longer for SE Florida are longer than the west coast due to the number of people and the distance involved. In this current scenario they still have to evac the keys and those people have to run the gauntlet of the entire state. if those in upstate run first it would take forever for them to get out.

We have been getting ready on this side of the state have been getting ready for this since Sunday and never stopped even on Tuesday when they showed it a west coast storm. They called for this to be a middle of state storm since Wednesday and told the people on west coast to be ready just in case as they were still going to get hurricane force winds, at some point it is on the person. East coasters still remember Andrew and it is ingrained now. Tampa has not been hit with a big one in a long time  and may have the it will miss us syndrome.

Just an opinion.
