I used to live in South Tampa which got flooded during summer thunderstorms. During Hurricane Frances the water got sucked out of Old Hillsborough Bay (by Bayshore Boulevard) and then when the tide came back in it flowed over Bayshore Boulevard to the point where you could boat down Bayshore. I had never seen anything like that. During the year of the four hurricanes there was a simulation of a Cat 5 hurricane hitting Tampa and it was frightening. |
